Using the remote

• Arrows move the feeding cursor, OK drops food. Up and down pick a fish; OK then opens its card.
• Push the cursor against the left edge to open the tools menu: cleaning, info, aquariums, fish, ornaments, care history and settings.
• Back closes whatever is open and finally returns to the main menu.

A fish looks unwell

• Open the fish's card: it says what is wrong — hunger, stress, poor water or an illness.
• White spots or ragged fins mean disease. Use the dropper from the tools menu and put a drop in every part of the surface; the course then starts and ends by itself once no fish is ill.
• Bad water is fixed by a water change, a floor siphon and rinsing the filter. The Info page shows the numbers as bars.
• In Relaxed mode, the default, no fish is ever lost. Realistic mode is the only one where neglect can kill, and it warns you before you switch.

Care tokens

Tokens come from looking after the aquarium, and new fish cost tokens. They cannot be bought with real money, and there is no way to spend money in Tankside at all.

Aquariums and looks

• The first aquarium is free. The second and third, and the second look for each water (lagoon reef, Amazon blackwater), are part of Pro — free to unlock while the app is in early access.
• Changing the look within the same water keeps every fish. Changing the water itself (reef ↔ freshwater) rehomes them, and the app asks first.
• A locked aquarium keeps running and keeps its fish. It is only hidden.

TV goes to sleep, or the picture stutters

• Settings → Sleep timer closes the aquarium after 30, 60 or 120 minutes so the TV can sleep.
• Settings → Power saving (30 fps) helps on slower TV boxes.
